For anyone struggling with infertility, it may not seem like it now, but you WILL survive. And you'll positively be happy again.
My fertility journey is a success story, although from the outside it probably looks like one massive failure after another. My husband Shawn and I tried for seven years to have children. And we failed. Over and over and over again. We tried everything under the sun to start a family and finally reached the point where continuing down that path just wasn’t viable, financially or otherwise.
As a result, we have no children. Unless you count our 2 fur babies, Luca & McCoy, who have brought immeasurable joy to our lives. And we couldn’t be happier. Turns out the DINK life can be pretty great!
When you struggle with infertility, you can’t possibly imagine being happy without a child. But even if you don’t get the result you want, I’m here to tell you that you can actually be happy. Really, truly happy. And you can have a pretty amazing life too, one that you never imagined for yourself.
I'm not here to tell you if or when you should stop chasing your dream to have a family. What I am telling you is that if it doesn't happen the way you want it to, there are other very fulfilling ways to live your life. It was impossible for me to see this while I was still trying, and I don't expect you to believe me right now. But what I do want you to know is that if I, someone whose ENTIRE universe revolved around having kids for seven years, can be kid-free and happy after infertility, you can too.
Now I'm a poster child for being kid-free and awesome! My husband and I love to travel and we haven't stopped... well, barring a pause from COVID, but we'll be right back out there as soon as we can!
Hang out with me and I'll share my whole story, including how I survived the euphoric highs and cavernous lows of this lonely journey that only fellow infertiles can understand.
Trust me, there's always upside!
